Hotkeys & Shortcuts Not Working

Here's how to troubleshoot when a hotkey won't register, or when a shortcut sent by Radiant doesn't work in the target app.

Check with Your Keyboard First

Most issues are caused by key conflicts with macOS system shortcuts or other apps. Try pressing the key combination directly on your keyboard — without Radiant — to see if it works as expected.

• Hotkey won't register: Open a text editor and press the key combination to confirm it produces input
• Sent shortcut doesn't work: In the target app, manually press the same shortcut on your keyboard to confirm it works

If it doesn't work from the keyboard either

The issue isn't with Radiant — something else is intercepting the key combination. Check the following:

macOS system shortcuts

Open System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts and check whether macOS has claimed the key combination. If there's a conflict, change or disable the macOS shortcut.

Third-party apps

Apps like BetterTouchTool, Karabiner-Elements, Raycast, and Alfred can register global shortcuts that intercept key combinations before Radiant receives them. Check these apps' settings and change or disable any conflicting shortcuts.

If it works from the keyboard

If the shortcut works fine from the keyboard but not through Radiant, review your Radiant settings:
